1. Position: COACH FOR FAMAGUSTA TENNIS CLUB

 

Introduction

 

Famagusta Tennis Club (FTC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in founded at 1925 in its original home of Famagusta. It is currently located in a prime location in central Limassol and has at its disposal 10 courts (7 hard and 3 artificial grass) and an orange and red mini tennis court. FTC has currently over 200 registered members as well as over 350 junior members who are registered at the academy. Moreover, FTC has more than 20 of the top 10 ranked players, according to the latest Cyprus Tennis Rankings. FTC has a proud tradition of producing some of the best junior athletes in Cyprus and is looking to further enhance its reputation as one of the leading tennis clubs in Cyprus.

 

As part of its current restructuring program, FTC is looking to recruit a Coach to join its experienced coaching team.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting athletes and club members in developing and improving various tennis skills.
  • Assessing students' tennis skills to determine areas in need of improvement.
  • Coordinating and conducting individual and group tennis lessons as per management instructions.
  • Follow current training programs for students based on their age, objectives, and individual skillsets.
  • Providing a secure and productive learning environment for students.
  • Provide feedback to management and parents or guardians to discuss athlete’s progress.
  • Attending students' tennis matches, competitions, and tournaments as required.

 

Tennis Coach Requirements

  • Degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is a plus
  • Proven experience working as a Tennis Coach or Instructor is an advantage
  • Previous experience as a tennis player is an advantage
  • Good current playing level
  • Sound knowledge of various coaching techniques.
  • CPR and first aid certifications.
  • Ability to motivate students.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Results orientated
  • Passion for tennis.

 

Main Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a sports related field is preferable.
  • Previous hands-on coaching experience as well as coaching certification is an advantage.
  • Strong personality and team player.
  • Good communicator and organizer (Fluent English is essential).
  • Hard working and results driven
  • Computer literate.

2. Position:SPORTS DIRECTOR/HEAD COACH FOR FAMAGUSTA TENNIS CLUB

Position

 

As part of its current restructuring program, FTC is looking to recruit a Director of Tennis/Head Coach to work alongside the Club’s Executive Director and to =-oversee all the sport related activities.

 

Main Responsibilities

  1. To create a complete academy structure, utilizing to the maximum and in the correct positions,FTC’s current staff of 8 existing coaches and one fitness coach and to carry out recruitment of any new staff required by the created structure.
  2. To lead and supervise the coaching team and create structured programs, mainly for competition/tournaments, as well as social tennis and to correctly monitor them, with emphasis given on a structured development of FTC’s competitive tennis players.
  3. To undertake a certain number of lessons for the FTC’s elite players himself and to be actively monitoring and taking part in lessons that are being given by other coaches with the purpose of improving both players and coaches at the same time.
  4. To give tennis related fitness guidelines to the FTC’s fitness coach.
  5. To set the FTC’s sporting strategy and goals and carry out continual monitoring to ensure that the set goals are achieved at the end of the season.
  6. To be responsible for planning and implementing other tennis related activities like leagues, tournaments, camps etc.
  7. To promote FTC and act as the club’s sporting ambassador with the aim of attracting other talented players or sponsors to join the club.
  8. To Identify tennis related business opportunities for FTC and work in conjunction with the FTC’s General Manager, in a continuous effort to increase revenues from various sources like sponsors, special events etc and any possible oversees collaborations with other academies.
  9. To guide and nurture the FTC’s players in a way so as to create well rounded athletes and people by mentoring them.
  10. To create guidelines and criteria for the special benefits that are given to the FTC’s elite players and assist these players in finding sponsorships, gaining scholarships etc.
  11. To arrange conferences and seminars so both players and coaches can continually improve their education and knowledge.
  12. To create and uphold the sports performance and tennis records of the athletes with the assistance of the clubs’ administrator.

 

Main Qualifications

  1.  Degree qualified in a sports related field is preferable. 
  2. At least 5 years’ experience either as a head coach or as a sports director with proven results.
  3. Previous hands-on coaching experience required as well as coaching certification.
  4. Strong personality and team player who is able to act as a leader.
  5. Good communicator and organizer (Fluent English is essential).
  6. Hard working and results driven.
  7. Computer literate.

3. Position:Club Accountant/Bookkeeper

 

The Famagusta Tennis Club is looking to hire a professional,well organised and reliable person to fill the role of Accountant/Bookkeeper.The primary responsibility of the role will be to manage the day to dayaccounting records for the Club.

 

In addition the role will work very closely with the Club Manager and the committee of the club to ensure the smooth running of the cluband its facilities.

 

The additional responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance of the company's accounts using the accounting software package provided.
  • Data entry of banking and purchase ledger transactions
  • Reconciliation of bank and creditors' statements
  • Enter payments onto electronic banking systems for authorisation
  • Processes suppliers' invoices/credit notes and update suppliers' records
  • Keep the accounting records up to date for the timely submission to the Auditors as and when required
  • This will include the receiving of payments from club members on a daily basis and the recording of such transactions on their internal accounting records.
  • General administrative duties as required by the club committee and Club Manager

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Holder of LCCI Accounting Certificate with previous experience in the role of an Accounts Administrator
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in both English and Greek
  • Excellent numeration and communication skills
  • Planning and organising
  • Eye for detail
  • Accuracy
  • Good interpersonal skills (face to face and telephone with club members, suppliers and members of the public)
